Mr. Cephas Bowie, Jr. is a lifelong resident of Grant Parish. He is the proud father of four adult children and has three grandsons. He attended Colfax High School and graduated from Mary E. Graham High School in 1971. He received his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and minored in Urban Transportation.  He served 5 years in the Army where he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in 1975, and served 7 years in the Louisiana National Guard as a Captain. He worked 29+ years for the LADOTD and retired as the Assistant District Administrator of Engineering. He is the past President of Zone Two Water System, Past 1st Vice President of the Rapides Chapter of Southern University Alumni, and County Committee Member of the Grant/Rapides Farm Service Agency. He is a member of Trinity United Baptist Church where he serves as Deacon, Treasurer, and Sunday School Superintendent. Currently, he serves as a member of the Grant Parish Port Commission and Grant Parish Library Board. He previously served on the Louisiana State Employees Group Benefits Board, Vice Chair of Benefits Committee, and Board Member, District 08 Federal Credit Union.
